LOCAL KNOWLEDGE PAYS OFF

AT MURCAR LINKS

 

Murcar Links made the most of local knowledge to head the 10 qualifiers over their home course on Thursday for the Belhaven Best Captains and Secretaries’ Championship Grand Final at The Duke’s Course, St Andrews on September 12.

Murcar Links – represented by captain Derek Mortimer and Dave Ritchie - won with the first regional final – there will be four in all – with a score of net score of 61 – four shots ahead of Nigg Bay (Gary Stewart and Lee O’Connor), Alyth (Ian Waddell and Jim Docherty) and Kintore (Stuart Archer and Ali Thomson).

71 Lochgelly (inward half 35), Kingussie (ih 36, last 6: 24).
