KRYSTLE SPARKLES WITH A 71 OVER NEW COURSE

St Regulus member Krystle Caithness knows all the St Andrews courses like the back of her golf glove - and she cashed in on that local knowledge to lead the field in the first round of the 54-hole St Rule Trophy tournament over the New Course.
Krystle, 17, shot an eagle and six birdies on the plus side and four bogeys on the debit column for a four-under-par 71.
Her halves were 36 (one under par) and 35 (three under).
Australian Jody Fleming, who was drafted into the field when 14-year-old Carly Booth (Comrie) withdrew, was lying second to Krystle with about half the international field of 72 back in the clubhouse.
Jody packed in an eagle and five birdies to her scorecard of 72 (36-36).
Defending champion Naomi Edwards from Yorkshire had a par-matching 75.
One of the best finishes of the day came from 15-year-old Kelsey MacDonald (Nairn Dunbar). She eagled the 16th, birdied the 17th and eagled the 18th for 34 home and a 75.
New Scottish champion Martine Pow (Selkirk) found the eagles and birdies in short supply as far as she was concerned and signed for an 80.
