DONALD MACKAY HEADS WISHAW QUALIFIERS

Donald Mackay (Wellsgreen) had six 3s and a double-bogey 7 – and that was only his outward half – in heading the list of 26 qualifiers at Wishaw Golf Club on Tuesday for the Wishaw 36-hole pro-am on Saturday and Sunday, June 3 and 4.

Mackay finished with a one-under-par 68 in quite windy conditions with birdies at the first, fifth, seventh, ninth and 13^th. Apart from his double bogey at the long fourth, Donald dropped shots at the 11^th and 14^th.

He had a shot to spare over joint runners-up David Orr (East Renfrewshire), Ricky Gray (Torrance House) and Stephen Gray (Hayston).

The 26 qualifiers who will join 24 exempt players to make up the tournament field were:
