COLIN DROPS OUT OF STATESVILLE HUNT
Colin Speirs from Dunkeld dropped out of contention with a third-round 75 for a 54-hole tally of 211 in the NGA Hooters Tour’s Statesville Classic golf tournament at Statesville, North Carolinia.
Speirs had been well up the field after opening rounds of 69 and 67 but he went into the final round in a tie for 50th place behind leader Emmett Turner on 17-under-par 199 (65-68-66).
Ulsterman Gareth Maybin from Ballyclare, a winner of a recent NGA Hooters Tour event, was sharing 23rd place on 207 (70-70-67).
