PALMER CUP LATEST
EUROPEANS PILE ON THE AGONY
FOR AMERICANS AT PRESTWICK
As if the American students did not have enough problems trying to get accustomed to the Prestwick Golf Club's ancient links and quirkiness in the Palmer Cup, they had to try to play foursomes against their European counterparts this morning.
Result: A 4-0 clean sweep for the Europeans, which made the lunchtime scoreline an embarrassing (if you are an American): EUROPE 14, UNITED STATES 2.
It's the most lopsided scoreline in the history of the event so far - and there are still the singles to be played!
Day 2 foursomes results (European names first):
Alejandro Canizares & Pablo Martin bt Ryan Blaum & Roberto Castro 6 and 4.
Oscar Floren & Mark Haastrup bt Ryan Baca & Clay Ogden 1 hole.
Joost Luiten & Richie Ramsay bt Brian Harman & Luke List 3 and 2.
Rhys Davies & Stephen Lewton bt Chris Kirk & Keven Larsen 4 and 3.
