PGA EUROPRO TOUR
UNLUCKY 13 FOR JOINT-THIRD ROBERTSON -
It was unlucky 13 for Dean Robertson in the final round of the PGA EuroPro Tour's Stoke by Nayland International Open at the Suffolk venue today (Thursday).
Robertson ran up a double bogey 6 at the 13th and also bogeyed the 18 in signing off with a 70 for a final total of five-under-par 211.
That put him in a tie for third place with Welshman Mark Laskey and earned him £2,100.
But a par at the 13th might have won the tournament for the Scot who finished one shot behind Englishmen Paul Curry and Mark Ramsdale.
Cuirry birdied the 14th, 15th, 16th and 17 for a 69 to match the 210 total achieved by Ramsdale (who bogeyed the 18th). Then Curry won the play-off for the £10,000 first prize. Ramsdale had to settle for £5,000.
Ross Cameron from Ellon had a triple bogey 8 at the long second in a 76 for joint 41st place on 220. He earned £242.
Paul Doherty from Vale of Glamorgan and Blairgowrie's Colin Mitchelled shared 45th place on 222. Doherty had double bogeys at the 11th and 17th in a final round of 78. Mitchell did the same, double-bogeying the 10th and 11th, also for a 78..
