PERTH & KINROSS FAVOURITES TO WIN

TITLE FOR FIRST TIME SINCE 1982

Perth & Kinross are on the brink of winning the North Division women’s inter-county team golf championship for the first time since 1982.

Twenty-four years ago they beat Angus, Aberdeenshire & Northern Counties to win the title at Crieff – and, by coincidence, that is the venue for this year’s three-day championship.

Perth & Kinross followed up their 7-2 Saturday win over Angus by beating Northern Counties, champions for the past three years, 5 ½-3 ½ today.

In the other match, Aberdeenshire and Angus drew 4 ½-4 ½.

In Monday’s final programme, Perth & Kinross play Aberdeenshire, while Angus play Northern Counties.

The winners of the North Division team title go forward to the Scottish women’s county finals at The Hirsel Golf Club, Coldstream in September.
