AYRSHIRE TOUR PRO IN FORM

 

SUPERMAC HITS SIX BIRDIES IN SUCCESSION

IN WINNING PORTLETHEN PRO-AM WITH A 62

 

Irvine tour pro Jim McKinnon shot a brilliant 10-under-par 62 to win the Portlethen Golf Club pro-am by four shots today.

McKinnon picked up the £1,035 prize with a bogey-free card and his 10 birdies included six in a row from 12th to the 17th  in halves of 32 (four under par) and 30 (six under par).

Gary Colinson (Esporta Dougalston) and Kenny Walker (Castle Park) were joint runners-up on 66.

Alan Reid (unattached) led the Randy Smith Training team No 1 to victory in the team event with a net score of 19-under-par 55. The amateurs were Duncan Bonner (6), Jay Richardson (15) and George Robertson (14).
