SUPER MAC WINS NORTH BOYS' TITLE

 
 
ABERDONIAN McINNES COVERS NINE HOLES IN 29 SHOTS

Graeme McInnes (Northern), son of the former Aberdeen Links champion of the same name, became the first Aberdeen youngster since Bruce Scott (Hazlehead) in 1993 to win the North of Scotland boys' golf championship for the H R Spence Trophy at Hopeman Golf Club today.
Mitchell had rounds of 66 and 70 for a level par aggregate of 136 to win by three shots from Fraser Fotheringham (Nairn) and Michael Brand (Tain).
McInnes's first round of 66 was made up of halves of 37 (two over par) and 29 (four under par). In that brilliant inward half, Graeme had an eagle at the 10th and birdies at the 11th and 14th.
