. Lanarkshire match-play quarter-finals

Dominic Dougan beat young Jack Emerson of East Kilbride by 6 and 5 and was four under par for the match at Hamilton Golf Club. Jack had a few birdies earlier on but Dominic’s experience began to tell. 

Ed Wood played steadily throughout to beat Stewart Henderson 3 and 2. Gordon Yates had to birdie the last hole to get the better of local player Craig Borland by one hole. 

In the final match Hamilton greenkeeper Brian Scott staged a late rally to beat Kenny Gallacher at the last hole. Brian birdied the 14^th and 16^th to edge one ahead but looked like losing the last when he was 20 yards through the green with his approach and Kenny was safely on the green. However a superb pitch into the hole  brought an abrupt end to the match!

Semi-finals are tomorrow at 5.30 again at Hamilton Golf Club.
