AIRLINE MANAGES TO LOSE NINE TOP
SCOTS' CLUBS ON EVE OF EUROPEAN
Nine
Scots were due to compete in this week's European men's individual
amateur golf championship .. but it has all gone wrong for them.
Most
them flew out on Monday from Amsterdam but their golf clubs have gone
astray in transit. Hence no practice rounds have been had by the
Scots.
The
first round starts on Wednesday and the majority, according to one of
the hapless Scots, Liam Johnston, have withdrawn altogether whereas
others are borrowing
clubs from other international players.
Obviously not an ideal arrangement by any
manner but having gone to the expense of entering the
competition, flying there, paying for accommodation, etc, any golf
played will be a bonus.
Being a full time amateur can be a dream existence for some ... but this has turned into a nightmare for them.
