Maclean goes three clear in Tennant Cup

with a 68 at Killermont

By COLIN FARQUHARSON
Defending champion Matthew Clark (Kilmacolm) dropped back to a share of third place over the third round which saw Chris Maclean (Balmore),
pictured left, and Calum Fyfe (Cawder) regain the lofty positions they had at the end of Saturday's first 18 holes at Glasgow Gailes.
The final two rounds are at Glasgow Killermont and Maclean shot a two-under-par 68 this morning for two-over 214, leading by three shots from first-round pacemaker Fyfe who had a 71, a three-stroke swing in the Balmore player's favour.
Clark, who had coped so well with Saturday afternoon's wind at the Ayrshire venue could do no better than a 75 for 219, level on that mark with Andrew Davidson (Charleton) who had a 71.
Best of the morning rounds at Killermont was a four-under 66 by A J Sutherland (Cupar) whose Saturday scores were 81 and 77.
