John Pinner funeral arrangements

I have been advised of the funeral details for our late friend and colleague, John Pinner.

The funeral will take place at 12 noon on Tuesday, 25^th April at the St. Cadoc's Church, Leigh Road, Trevethin, Pontypool NP4 8JF

And afterwards at John's beloved Pontypool Golf Club located just a half a mile from the church.

John's brother Terry has indicated John's wife Maureen is still alive but condolences and sympathy cards should be sent to him at the following address ..

John Pinner, pictured, wrote on golf extensively for over 30 years.  

He was a former Editor of Golf World, Wales and contributed throughout his career to most of the national golf magazines and newspapers including the Daily and Sunday Telegraph, and the Sunday Express.

John was also the author of many golfing books including “The History of Golf” and the “Golfing Guide to Wales” .

In 1984 John was elected as club captain of Belmont Lodge Golf Club which lies in the English county of Herefordshire and not far from John's birthplace in Monmouthshire, Wales.

He was at one stage a single digit golfer before suffering a near-fatal heart attack in 1991.
