McLean, Culverwell only Scots to beat


Morocco cut

Kevin Duncan, leading Scot after the first round of the Pro Golf Tour's Madaef Open at Royal Golf El Jadida, Morocco, crashed out of the tournament with a  second-round, birdie-less 80 (40-40) for a total of 154, one stroke too many to survive the 36-hole cut.
The only Scots to beat the cut were Phil McLean (Paul Lawrie Golf Centre) and former Scottish amateur champion Alexander Culverwell (Dunbar).
McLean had rounds of 75 and 77 for 152 and is tied for 32nd place.
Culverwell qualified on the limit mark of 153 with rounds of 81 and 72. He is T38.
Apart from Duncan, the other Scots who missed the cut were Chris Robb (Meldrum House) 78-76 for 154), Ross Cameron (Saltire Energy) 78-77 for 155) and Sam Kiloh (Paul Lawrie Golf Centre) (82-75 for 157).
Three players share the lead on 146 - the Czech Republic's Stanislav Matus (71-75) and Jan Cafourek (71-75), and Dutchman Michael Kraaij (75-71)
