William Squires wins Kirkcudbrightshire Junior Championship

 The Kirkcudbrightshire Junior Championship was played on Saturday, June 18 at New Galloway Golf Club.

With the sun out and the course in superb condition, a new name went on the Junior Championship Trophy - William Squires (Kirkcudbright) recorded an excellent 69 with clubmate Nathan Watson  finishing runner up on 74 and Scott Jamieson (New Galloway) third on 77.  

Scott won the Handicap Trophy with a score of 77-09-68 with Callum McMillan(Kbt) runner up with 80-09-71.  

The President, Jean Forrest. presented the trophies and prizes to the winners and thanked the Committee of for hosting the 2016 Championship.  She praised the greenkeeping staff for presenting the course in such an excellent condition which was also appreciated by the players.
