Paul O'Hara completes Sandy Pipey Young

Masters hat-trick of victories at Royal Dornoch

By COLIN FARQUHARSON
Paul O'Hara completed an impressive hat-trick of victories in the Sandy Pipey Young Masters at Royal Dornoch today.

The Clydeway Golf man, already winner of the Scottish young professionals' title this year and runner-up to Paul McKechnie in last week's Paul Lawrie Invitataional at Deeside, won by seven strokes with an eight-under-par 36-hole total of 132, considerably lower than last year (138) and also in 2013 (136).
His rounds at Dornoch were 63 and 69, the latter being made up of birdies at the sixth, ninth, 12th and 15th, offset by bogeys at the fourth, 11th and 17th in halves of 34 and 35.
The only other round of 69 on the final day was returned by Craig Goodwin (Duff House Royal) who came through to share second place with Greg Paterson (St Andrews Links Golf Academy) on 139.
The first three were the only players in the big field who were under the par of 140 (2x70) for the 36 holes.
Goodwin birdied the first, fourth, fifth and nine in an outward half of 32 but a double bogey 6 at the 11th took much of the steam out of his engine and hecame home in a birdie-less 37.
Paterson had  three second-round birdies but five bogeys cost him a 71, three more than his opening-day score.
