JUNIOR MATCH-PLAY TITLES

Sam Locke (Banchory) and Shannon McWilliam (Aboyne) won the Paul Lawrie Foundation junior scratch match-play golf events at Newmachar Golf Club at the weekend.

In the boys' final over Hawkshill, Locke, a Foundation- supported player, beat defending Champion, Marc Watt (Inverallochy) 2 and 1.

Sam had earlier beaten Kiran Nolan (Kemnay) 8 and 7 in the semi-final and Marc had finished one up on Craig Leith in the other.

In the girls' event, Shannon defeated clubmate Carmen Griffiths 5 and 3.

Shannon had beaten Sarah Black (Deeside) 5 and 4 and Carmen beat Chloe Henderson (Deeside) by one hole in the semi-finals.
