European Under-18s team championship in Finland

Fyfe stars but Scots boys need more good 

scores  to make the top flight

Scotland are lying joint ninth and only the top eight countries after the second stroke play qualifying round will go forward to contest the top flight of match-play in the European boys' team championship at Pickala Golf Club, Finland.
England (357) lead after the first Q round with Sweden five strokes behind.
Scotland, sharing ninth place with Germany on 367, must improve enough to get ahead of France and Spain who are joint seventh and eighth on 366.
The Scots' star was Calum Fyfe who had a four-under-par 68, the joNint best round of the day.
Murray Naysmith came next with a 72. Chris Curran had a 73.
Scottish boys champion Will Porter from Carnoustie had a 75 and the North lads, Rory Franssen (Inverness) and Sandy Scott (Nairn) brought up the rear with rounds of 79 and 80 respectively 
 Scott, recent winner of the East of Scotland Open, was the player whose score was discounted under the best five from six daily to count for the team total.
