England trio picked for French tournaments

Alfie Plant, who shot a course record in qualifying at the Amateur Championship, is among three players who will represent England Golf in the Chiberta Grand Prix and the Biarritz Cup in France.
Plant, from Kent, will be joined by Ben Amor from Wiltshire and Tom Gandy from the Isle of Man.
The Chiberta Grand Prix takes place from 9-12 July and the Biarritz Cup, from 16-19 July. Both are 72-hole medal competitions with team events.
The players:
Alfie Plant, 22, (Sundridge Park) set a course record 63 at Panmure in the first round of qualifying for the Amateur Championship. This season he has also tied fifth in the Hampshire Salver and seventh in both the Welsh stroke play and the South East of England links championships. (Image © Leaderboard Photography).
Ben Amor, 19, (Marlborough), led the southern qualifiers for the Brabazon Trophy and tied 15th in the championship itself. He was runner-up in the Darwin Salver earlier this season and is a past winner of the boys’ Carris Trophy. He was in England’s winning team at the 2014 Costa Ballena quadrangular tournament.
Tom Gandy, 23, (Rowany) won the Lagonda Trophy last year and tied second in the Irish amateur championship, returning this year to take a share of 15th place. Like Amor, he is a member of the England Golf A squad.
