BELL, SENIOR WINNER AT DOWNFIELD

Downfield's Graham Bell cashed in on his local knowledge to win the Scottish Seniors Golfing Society's 36-hol3 East of Scotland Seniors Open at the Dundee course today.

Bell had rounds of 72 and 68 for a total of 140. eight shots under the combined CSS of 74 for both rounds.
He won by four strokes from Ian Brotherston (Dumfries and County) (71-73)  with Aberdeen's Stewart Finnie (Caledonian) third on 145 (73-72).
Despite his +1 handicap, Bell also had the lowest net return of 142 (73-69), finishing
a stroke ahead of one-handicapper Finnie (72-71) with Alasdair MacGregor (Newmachar) (4) third on 144 (77-67).
Downfield member William Barclay had the fourth best net aggregate of 145 (72-73).
