OPENING EVENT OF MENA TOUR WON BY JOSHUA WHITE

PAUL DOHERTY FADES INTO SEVENTH 

PLACE FINISH IN MOROCCO

Paul Doherty peaked too early in the Royal Golf D'Anfa Open, the opening event of the MENA Tour, at Casablanca, Morocco.
The Cardiff-based former Scottish boys' match-play champion's scores were on a downward spiral - 69, 70 and 73 - and a four-under-par total of 212 saw the 29-year-old finish joint seventh and earn $1,290.
Englishman Joshua White was the winner of the top prize, $9,000, with  66, 71 and 67 for 12-under-204, a shot ahead of local hope Faycal Serghini (73-65-67 for 205) who earned $4,000.
The two other Scots who made the cut, Clarke Lutton and Conor O'Neil, finished joint 14th and 32nd respectively. Lutton scored 72-70-73 for 215 and O'Neil 76-75-68 for 219.
