Scots beat English to earn place in
Euro seniors final against Ireland

Scotland will play title-holders and host nation Ireland in the European senior men's amateur team championship final at Shannon Golf Club tomorrow (Saturday).
The Scots, who qualified with the same stroke-play total as England behind top seeds Ireland, chalked up a great 3-2 win over the English in the semi-finals.
Derek Murphy (Kinross), John Fraser (Royal Burgess) and Bob Stewart were the men who rescued the Scots' hopes after Gordon MacDonald and Sandy Pirie had lost the only foursomes tie by hole and skipper Ian Hutchen had gone down by 2 and 1.
The Irish were not as impressive as they usually are in seniors' match-play and one of their points in a 3 1/2-1 1/2 win over fourth qualifiers Germany was a walk-over because one of the Germans could not play because of injury.
