Richie Ramsay shares lead in Germany

From Michael Gibbons, Challenge Tour Press Officer
The European Challenge Tour’s tartan contingent flew the Saltire with pride on two fronts yesterday, as Richie Ramsay took a share of the lead at the Vodafone Challenge in Germany while Steven O’Hara and Andrew McArthur moved into fifth place at the Trophée du Golf Club de Genève in Switzerland.
O’Hara and McArthur both carded opening scores of four under 68 to lie just three behind England’s Richard Bland at the Golf Club de Genève, in a tournament reserved for the top 36 players on the Challenge Tour Rankings.
While the men at the business end of the Rankings do battle in Geneva, the Challenge Tour’s chasing pack are in Dusseldorf at the Vodafone Challenge, where Ramsay posted a seven under par 65 to join Carlos del Moral of Spain in a tie for the lead.
George Murray is just two strokes behind Ramsay in Germany, with former Ryder Cup star Andrew Coltart still in the hunt after an opening score of one under 71 at the G&CC An der Elfrather Mühle.
