SEEDING FOR SCOTTISH

SENIORS' MATCH-PLAY

Ireland-based West of Scotland man Iain Stewart (The Curragh), pictured right by Cal Carson Golf Agency, earned the top seed spot in the Scottish senior amateur match-play golf championship with rounds of 72 and 74 for a two-over-par total of 146 in the qualifying competition at Drumpellier Golf Club today (Tuesday).
The No 2 qualifier was Derek Murphy (Kinross) with 75 and 74 for 149.
Only the leading 32 qualified for the match-play. The limit mark was 160 but only three of the four players on 160 beat the cut. Odd man out after a card countback was Alistair Fiddes (Deeside) whose second-round 81 was the worst of the four.
