Believe you are a good putter, and you will be ...
take Vijay Singh's word for it

By COLIN FARQUHARSON
Putting - good or bad - is all a state of mind, according to Vijay Singh, who at forty-something has just won again on the US PGA Tour.
If you think you're a bad putter, you will be, but if you keep telling yourself you are a good putter, then you can become one.
That's the gist of what Vijay had to say in his post-victory Press Conference on Sunday. Here is what he said to the media:
"I think through the past weeks and months and years, with the media talking about my putting and writing about my putting and people talking about my putting and people wanting to help me, I must have had hundreds of letters and phone calls and all saying that they can fix my putting,'' said Singh.
"You know, at the end of the day, it kind of gets to your head that you're not a good putter.
"So I made a point after last week that I'm going to change that attitude. I believed in myself that I'm the best putter, and I came out here with a different attitude, and I putted great this week. If I keep doing this, I'm going to win a lot more golf tournaments."
So remember, next time you are on the first tee for your club medal, say to yourself a few times (under your breath of course, or you'll be the talk of the clubhouse) "I am the best putter in this club .. I am the best putter at this club ... I am the best ..."
Let me know if it works.

FEEDBACK:
Colin,
Vijay may not be as far off the mark as you might think.
Scotland's best ever female seems to agree too!
