Hutcheon has four shots to

make up over his home

links on leader Christy

Home course hero Ian Hutcheon, who played when the wind was at its strongest, held the clubhouse lead for several hours with a four-over-par 75 on the first day of the East of Scotland Seniors Open at Monifieth links today.

But as the weather improved so did the scoring and Ian will start the second day in fifth place, four shots behind Colin Christy (Kilmacolm), leader with a 71, with one round to go. The CSS was 74.
