Kentish man Ian Mason takes early
lead in Scottish seniors stroke-play

Ian Mason, from the Kent coast club of Royal Cinque Ports, made the long trip up to Elgin Golf Club worthwhile with a first-round score of one-over-par 70 to take the early lead in the Scottish senior men's open amateur stroke-play championship.
With defending champion and hot favourite Ian Hutcheon (Monifieth) still out on the course, Mason had a one shot lead in the 54-hole event from David Bunker (Nairn) and Edinburgh's Ian Taylor (Royal Burgess).
