WILLIAM BREMNER FROM EDZELL'S
JOINT THIRD FINISH IN ILLINOIS
William Bremner, coming up to the end of his first year at John A Logan College in Illinois, finished joint third in the Rend Lake Spring Invite college golf tournament at Mount Vernon, Illinois this week.
William, beaten finalist in last year's Scottish boys' match-play championship, had rounds of 73 and 75 for a four-over par total of 148 - nine shots behnd his winning team-mate, Patrick Scheil who scored 68 and 71 for 139. Scheil headed the field by seven strokes. Breamner was only two strokes behind the runner-up.
John A Logan College (590) won the team title by nine strokes.
