ANDREW CRERAR MOVES FROM PERTH
TO BECOME HEAD PANMURE PRO
Andrew Crerar has been appointed head professional by Panmure Golf Club at Barry, Carnoustie.
Dundee-born Crerar, 40, a former Scottish PGA Order of Merit title-winner, moves from the King James VI club on Moncrieffe Island, Perth where he had been the pro for the past eight years.
Prior to that Crerar was an assistant at Blairgowrie before being attached to the Downfield club, Dundee as a tournament professional thoughout the 1990s when he became one of the front-rank competitors on the PGA Scottish Region circuit.
In 1997, the year he won the order of merit, he was a member of the Scotland professional trio who won the PGAs of Europe team championship in Spain.
His appointment to the King James VI club saw Crerar cut back on his number of appearances on the Tartan Tour so that he could devote more time to his club pro duties.
"I'm delighted to join Panmure and I'm looking forward to the new job," said Crerar.
"I'm looking to build up the coaching side at Panmure and would hope to enlarge the junior section."
At King James VI, Crerar played his part in the development of several promising youngsters.
