EVERGREEN CRAIG AND GARY
HEAD U K CHALLENGE
DOWN UNDER

Evergreen former British amateur champions Craig Watson and Gary Wolstenholme headed the United Kingdom challenge with one-under-par 71s in the first round of the Lake Macquarie Amateur Championship at Belmont Golf Club, Newcastle in New South Wales today.
In a huge field of 194 players, Watson, picture right by Cal Carson Golf Agency, from East Renfrewshire, and Wolstenholme, who has recently moved to Cumbria, finished the opening day in joint 18th place, five shots behind the New Zealand pacemaker Danny Lee with a 66.
Ross Kellett (Colville Park) had a 74, the same score as England's Matthew Baldwin, to be sharing 65th place.
Shaun McAllister (Craigielaw) had a 79 to be in joint 153rd position.
