BEN PARKER
RUNNER-UP IN
GERMAN SATELLITE
TOUR EVENT
IN TURKEY

Rookie pro Ben Parker, based in Germany where his father Tim is a club professional, finished runner-up in this week's 54-hole Sirene Classic at Belek on Turkey's terrific Antalya golf coast.
Ben has been globe-trotting since he turned pro in October but missed the cut in the European Tour Final Qualifying School.
Then he went to Argentina for two Challenge Tour events in early December. He came 22nd in the first and 36th in the next.

A former member of the England Elite amateur squad, Ben played for his country at every level.

But it looks as though his bread-and-butter golf this year will be on the Renault EPD Tour in Germany, roughly the equivalent of the UK's EuroPro Tour.
Ben, who won the Orange Junior Bowl in Florida a couple of years ago (pictured above with the girl winner) when he was a Royal Birkdale member and whose younger sister Florentyna is one of England's up-and-coming teenagers, scored 66, 71 and 70 for six-under-par total of 207 in the Sirene Classic, winning himself 2,375 Euros.
But, even though he finished second, Parker was outclassed - like everyone else in the field - by the winner from Switzerland, Damian Ulrich who shot 66, 67 and 66 for 14-under-par 199 to win the first prize of 4,125 Euros.
Ulrich hit something like 48 or 49 of the 54 greens in regulation. Some golf!
