WOODS WILL MISS US PGA GRAND SLAM
OF GOLF IN BERMUDA NEXT MONTH

The organisers of the US PGA Grand Slam of Golf have been dealt a blow with the announcement by Tiger Woods that he will not playin the tournament at the Mid Ocean Club in Bermuda in October.
Woods said last week that The Presidents Cup match-play team tournament at Royal Montreal in two weeks will be his last event until he hosts the Target World Challenge in December.
Tigeer says the break will allow him to spend time with his family including daughter Sam Alexis, who was born the day after the US Open in June.
"I am sorry that I will not be able to spend some time with my friends at The PGA of America and experience the beauty of Bermuda this year at the PGA Grand Slam of Golf," Woods said. "It's been a long year. And, given some new, personal obligations, it is very important that I take some extended time off and spend it with my family."
Jim Furyk, winner of the 2003 US Open, will replace Woods and take on Masters Champion Zach Johnson, Argentinian US Open Champion Angel Cabrera and British Open Champion Padraig Harrington of Ireland.
"While we are disappointed that the world's number one player will not be able to join us this year in Bermuda, we certainly understand and respect his decision to be with his family," PGA of America president Brian Whitcomb said.
"Tiger has a long and successful history with the PGA Grand Slam of Golf and as a seven-time winner of this event, we are confident that we will see his participation in the future."
