CELTIC PRO TOUR PRESS RELEASE
Celtic Pro Tour announces Tour Championship prize
The Celtic Pro Tour, the new development tour which has grown from last year’s Dragon Tour, has announced the prize money for its 2007 Tour Championship, which is just over a month away.
The winner of the 54-hole event, over three days from Wednesday 17th to Friday 19th October at the Marriott St Pierre, Chepstow will pocket £2,500, while the leading amateur will win a voucher worth £250.
“It is important that for our first ever Tour Championship, we offer a significant sum to the winner, we pay out further down the field and stage the event on a quality course,” said Rhydian Thomas, Celtic Pro Tour’s chief executive. “The Marriott St Pierre has a great tradition, is well situated and fits in perfectly with our strategy.”
The prize fund will be paid to the top 25% of the field, with the field limited to 60 players:
Entry to the Tour Championship costs:
£149 for professionals (who are members),
£175 for professionals (who are non-members) who have already played standard events on the tour and;
£199 for professionals who have not played an event this season and are non members.
Amateur entry is £99.
Sponsorship packages for the Tour Championship are now available, including title sponsorship for the event, involving branding at the course, accommodation and golf at the Marriott St Pierre, and a professionally-presented TV package on DVD.
Other sponsorship available at the Tour Championship includes individual hole sponsorship from £750.
The next event on the Tour is the East Wales Classic at Cottrell Park next Monday 17th and Tuesday 18th September. Standard entry for professionals is £99, and £55 for amateurs. The winner will pocket £1,000, with the top 25% in the field being paid. Deadline for entries is 6pm on Saturday 15th September.
