MIDLANDS DISTRICT CHAMPIONSHIP

On Sunday, at Crieff golf course, is the Midlands district team championship, a stroke-play event for the elite golfers from Perth & Kinross, Fife, Clackmannan and Angus.
Each area is represented by eight golfers, and Wee County selectors have picked Ian Ross, Craig O’Connor, Phil Dempsey Jamie Aitken (all Alloa), Mark Crichton, John Maxwell ( both Tulliallan), Ross Benvie (Braehead) and Dollar record holder Darren Hulston.
Selectors will be using the results to finalise the Clackmannan County team for the last match in the Area team championship series to be held at Rothesay against Argyll & Bute on September 23.
