UNITED STATES MAKE FOURSOMES CLEAN
SWEEP TO LEAD 10-6 IN WALKER CUP

Great Britain & Ireland dug themselves out of a first-day hole to start the Walker Cup's second day on level terms at 6-6. Now they have to do it again on Sunday.
The United States have put themselves firmly in the driving seat by making a 4-0 clean sweep of the Sunday foursomes to lead 10-6 with the final eight singles to play.
Skipper Colin Dalgleish did not field Lloyd Saltman in the morning session. Saltman was a loser both in the Saturday foursomes and Saturday singles.
Northern Ireland local hero Rory McIlroy is not doing much better than Saltman - and they were going to be the mainstays of the GB&I effort.
Paired up with Irishman Jonathan Caldwell in the opening Sunday foursome, McIlroy was on the losing side again. They went down 2 and 1 to Billy Horschel and Rickie Fowler.
