JAMIESON'S STORMING FINISH EARNS HIM
FISTFUL OF DOLLARS IN SOUTH CAROLINA
Glasgow's Scott Jamieson celebrated his return to the NGA Hooters Tour in America by finishing joint 11th and earning $3,553 in the Michelob Ultra Classic at River Hills G&CC, Little River in South Carolina today.
Jamieson just survived the halfway cut with opening rounds of 72 and 74 but a third round 72 followed by a closing five-under-par 67 which he eagled the second, bogeyed the third, and birdied the seventh, ninth,11th and 17th to climb the leaderboard with a three-under-par total of 285.
Scott's first three rounds each included a double-bogey 6
Jamieson came back to Scotland during the satellite tour's mid-summer hiatus and played in some Challenge Tour events.
He has now won $19,554 in nine Hooters Tour events, having missed the cut in only one.
This was Scott's second-biggest cash prize.
Another Scot, Elgin exile Joel Hendry finished joint 26th on 288 with scores of 72, 70, 73 and 73 to earn $1,772.
Andrew Medley from Athens, Georgia won the top prize of $34,238 by one stroke with scores of 68, 72, 66 and 73 for nine-under-par 279.
