SCOTS TO FORE IN FIRST EVENT OF NEW
US COLLEGE SEASON
Graeme Molloy from Glasgow, a second-year student at Grand View College, Des Moines in Iowa, finished second in his first competition of the season on the American college golf circuit., the GVC Viking Classic over the Tournament Club of Iowa's 6,551yd (par 71) course at Polk City.
Graham had rounds of 74 and 71 for 145 to finish one shot behind winner Adam White (St Ambrose University) (73-71).
Adam Lindsay from Banchory, a second-year student at Iowa Wesleyan College, came third with scores of 72 and 74 for 146.
There was a third Scot in the field of 57 - James Foley from Keith, who has just enrolled at Grand View College. James was obviously feeling debut nerves when he had a first-round 91 but he improved by 19 shots to shoot a 72, one of the best second-round scores, to tie for 41st place on 163.
St Ambrose University (584) won the team event from Grand View College (607) with Iowa Wesleyan College (608) third of the nine competing teams.
