BY GEORGE! ROOKIE MURRAY SHARES
CHALLENGE TOUR LEAD AT LEXUS OPEN

From Michael Gibbons
European Challenge Tour Press Officer

Former Scottish amateur champion George Murray shares the lead at the European Challenge Tour’s Lexus Open, after a second round of one under par 71 took him to five under par for the tournament, alongside Austrian Martin Wiegele, at the halfway stage.
The 24 year old from Anstruther recorded his best finish (12th) of his rookie season as a professional at last week’s Scottish Challenge presented by Bank of Scotland Corporate, giving hope that he has now fully settled on tour and can concentrate on moving up the Rankings.
Currently 69th on the Rankings, a victory over the weekend could propel Murray towards the top 20 and a European Tour card for next season.
Aberdeen’s Scott Henderson is also in contention at the Miklagard Golf Club in Norway after a second round 69 took the 34 year old to two under, four behind Murray and Wiegele.
Eric Ramsay, Richie Ramsay, Murray Urquhart and Peter Whiteford will all join Henderson and Murray for the weekend action after the four Scots survived the halfway cut.
