STEVE BROWN WINS EDEN TROPHY
Steve Brown from the Old Padeswood club, Mold in Flintshire, won the Eden Trophy at St Andrews today when he beat Brian Taylor (Walton Heath) by 2 holes in the final.
Brown was 25th of the 64 qualifiers for the match-play stages, Taylor the 27th.
The Eden Tankard handicap competition was won by Harry Sayers from Tewkesbury Park. He beat Melvin Head (Ashford) 5 and 4 in the final.
Eden Trophy results today:
Semi-finals - S Brown (Olde Padeswood) bt J Perry (Heidelberg, Germany) 2 holes, B Taylor (Walton Heath) bt A Vincent (Bishops Stortford) 4 and 2.
Final - Brown bt Taylor 2 holes.
