NORTH-EAST PAIR LEAD FIELD IN
SCOTTISH YOUNG PROS’
CHAMPIONSHIP AT MUCKHART

It was a North-east 1-2 at the head of the leaderboard at the end of the first day in the 72-hole Clubgolf Scottish young professionals’ golf championship at Muckhart Golf Club, near Dollar.
Graeme Lornie, pictured left, from the Aspire Golf Centre, near Aberdeen led the way with a three-under-par round 68 on a thundery day when play was suspended for 30min in mid-afternoon because of lightning.
Mark Barnard of the Inchmarlo Golf Resort at Banchory is in second place with a 69.
The field will be reduced to 40 and ties at the end of Thursday’s second round.
