Scots Yates, Kellett and Dear not in contention

LUKE GODDARD FIVE CLEAR
WITH ONE ROUND TO GO
IN CHIBERTA GRAND PRIX

England's Luke Goddard from Hendon continues to be the running after 54 holes of the Chiberta Grand Prix men's amateur tournament at Chiberta Golf Club, Biarritiz in southwest France.
Goddard has had rounds of 67, 63 and 70 for 10-under-par tally of 200 over the shortish, but sporting course of some 6,215yd with a par of 70 (when the wind blows, as it often does, they say the par can be as high as 75!).
Luke, bidding to follow in the footsteps of Duncan Stewart (Grantown on Spey) who was last year's winner, has opened up a five-stroke lead from Sweden's Niklas Glans (70-65-70) and by six from third-placed Franchman, Edouard Espana with 72, 69 and 65 for 206.
A second Englishman, Miles Mackman (Broome Manor) is in joint fourth place, one of three places on 207. Miles, who has a +2 rating, the same as Goddard, has scored 68, 70 and 69.
And a third English player, Sam Hutsby, winner of The Duke of York Young Champions' Trophy tournament at Dundonald Links last autumn, is joint 13th on 213 with 72, 71 and 70.
Gordon Yates (Hilton Park), pictured above, is sharing 27th place on 216 with 72, 73 and 71.
Ross Kellett (Colville Park) and Gavin Dear (Murrayshall) are in joint 30th place on 217. Kellett has scored 73, 72 and 72 while Dear dropped down from joint 10th place after a disappointing third-round 78. He had earlier scored 70 and 69.
