GLEN BOUNCES BACK TO LEAD AT MUCKHART
AFTER NEAR-MISS IN OPEN QUALIFYING

Kenny Glen, halfway leader by two strokes in the Clubgolf Scottish young professionals’ golf championship at Muckhart Golf Club, near Dollar, will play two rounds with the rest of the qualifiers on 154 or better tomorrow.
It will be the second time in three days that the Royal Musselburgh assistant has squeezed 36 holes into one day – because he made the trip to Musselburgh for the Open regional qualifying round on Wednesday after he had scored a 71 in the first round at Muckhart.
Glen failed by the narrowest of margins to make it through to the Open Final Qualifying. He was one of a bunch who scored 72 and only Jordan Findlay (Fraserburgh) got through on the scorecard play-off.
Kenny showed no signs of his exertions today when scoring a five-under-par 66 to take up the running in the £10,000 Scottish young pros’ championship with a five-under-par tally of 137.
Glen’s bogey-free card had a birdies at the first, fourth, fifth, 13th and 18th.
Overnight leader Graeme Lornie (Aspire Golf Centre) dropped down to second place with a par 71 for a three-under-par tally of 139.
