McKECHNIE SETS NEW POLLOK RECORD AND
ADDS £1,051 TO HIS BANK BALANCE

Paul McKechnie (Braid Hills), the leading Tartan Tour money-winner this season, lifted the £1,051 first prize and claimed a new course record with a 10-under-par round of 61 in the Pollok Golf Club pro-am today.
Paul had an eagle 3 at the 15th and nine birdies, at the first, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, ninth, 10th, 13th and 18th, in halves of 30 (six under par) and 31 (four under par).
It wasn't quite a perfect round - he bogeyed the 17th.
McKechnie won by four strokes, an unusually big margin on the pro-am circuit, from joint runners-up Chris Kelly (Cawder) and Alan Lockhart (Ladybank).
There was a tight finish to the team event with three teams finishing with a net total of 124.
Victory, with a better back nine hole total, went to the Hamilton Glen team and professional Brian Mason (Drumoig). The amateurs were Douglas Hogg (handicap 12), Colin Cammidge (11) and Graham Wright (12).
The two other teams on 124 were David Fleming (Prestwick) and J T C 1, and Paul McKechnie and Caledonia Financial Planning.
