JAMIESON ONE SHOT OFF THE PACE IN OKLAHOMA
BUT NOW FOUR SHARE LEAD ON HOOTERS TOUR
Scott Jamieson shot a seven-under-par 65 to be one shot off the pace at the end of the first round of the Buffalo Run Casino Classic, this week's event on the NGA Hooters Tour, at Peoria Ridge Golf Club, Miami in Oklahoma.
The Glasgow-born rookie pro - he quit the amateur ranks last November after topping the Scottish Golf Union Order of Merit - had birdies at the fifth, seventh, eighth, 12th, 15th, 16th and 17th in a bogey-free round.
He was one shot behind four players on the eight-under-par 64 mark.
Long-time Edinburgh exile David Kirkpatrick had a 67 to be sharing 14th place.
Ulsterman Gareth Maybin from Ballyclare had a 68 to be in joint 22nd place.
Englishman David Skinns from Lincoln and Steven Tiley from Canterbury were in joint 38th place on 69.
Colin Spiers from Dunkeld looked unlikely to beat the halfway cut on this very competitive mini tour after starting with a 77. He starts the second round in joint 156th place in a field of 168 players.
