Vikki Laing beats the weather in Futures tour event

Former four times Scottish Girls Champion Vikki Laing from Musselburgh was lucky to be one of the early players and to have finished her first round before the weather closed the course in The Futurs Tour "The Power of a Dream Golf Classic" at The Trails of Frisco Golf Club, a suburb of Dallas Texas yesterday. Reports of fierce tornadic activity and hailstones the size of tennis balls to the north and west, had everyone looking nervously to the skies, and at 5:53pm play was suspended with 22 groups still playing.
Vikki returned a two over par 73 and is currently tied for 35th place . Mollie Fankhauser, Sarah Martin and Allison Fouch share the lead on 68.
The groups still to finish will resume play at 7:30 a.m. today and those who completed the first round will remain in the same pairings and will simultaneously start the second round at 9:30 a.m.
