LAIRD BLOWS IT IN FINAL ROUND
Former Scottish youths champion Martin Laird from Glasgow blew a chance of a fair-sized cheque with a final round of seven-over-par 79 to finish joint 62nd in the Nationwide Tour's South Georgia Classic at Kinderlou Forest Golf Club, Valdosta, Georgia.
Laird was incontention for a top 30 finish after starting with 70, 74 and 74 but he "lost" it in the closing circuit and earned only $1,725.
Winner John Kimbell finished 19 shots ahead of Laird and won the top prize of $108,000 with scores of 68,70, 71 and 69 for 1o-under-par 278.
They were playing over a long, long course - some 7,781yd with a testing par of 72.
