SCOTS LEAD EUROPEAN SENIOR MEN'S QUALIFYING IN SWEDEN

Ronnie Clark (Erskine) topped the individual scoreboard by four strokes with an eight-under-par total of 136 (66-70) and Scotland, the defending champions, shaded Ireland for the top team qualifying spot, both totalling 716 from the 36-hole stroke-play opener at the PGA Sweden course.
Scotland will play the last of the championship flight qualifiers, Norway, in the quarter-finals of the match-play.
Graham Bell (Downfield) was the second-best Scot in the stroke-play, finishing tied 6th on 142 with Robert Smith (Nairn) T11 on 145 (71-74).
The only Scot not in the leading 20 was Aberdeen's Nick Robson (Meldrum House) who had a pair of 75s.

Senior Scots women fail to make championship flight in Slovakia

In the European senior women's amateur team championship in Slovakia, the Scots failed to make the championship flight, finishing 10th in the qualifying.
They play Iceland in the quarter-finals of Flight B in which the other ties are Czech Republic v Switzerland and Austria v Finland.

England are in the Championship Flight in which the quarter-finals are:
England v Spain
Belgium v Ireland
France v Netherlands
Germany v Sweden.
