SCOTLAND SHAMMERED BY ENGLAND
IN POLISH THIRD-PLACE PLAY-OFF
Scotland were whipped 4-1 by England in the third-place play-off at the European senior men's amateur team golf championship today (Sat) at Sierra Golf Club,
Poland.
Ireland won the title by beating Sweden 3 1/2 to 1 1/2 in the final.
The Scots, who had played well all week, did not win a game from the English.
Their one point came from two halved matches featuring Ian Brotherston and David Gardner.

Bob Stewart and Malcolm Reid lost to Alan Mew and Anthony McLure 2 and 1.
Ian Brotherston halved with Clive Jones

Barry Brooks lost to Richard Latham 4 and 3.
