A hole in one by Graeme Storm started a surge that made him the front-runner on 16 under par after the third round of the Omega European Masters at Crans-sur-Sierre in Switzerland today.
Storm, whose ace came on the 217yd par three 11th, looked set for a share of the overnight lead until Brooks Koepka double bogeyed the last to drop back to 14 under par.
Tommy Fleetwood, whose 63 is his best European Tour round, sits in second place on 15 under in Switzerland.
However, the day belonged to Storm, ranked 159th in The Race to Dubai, who shot his second 64 of the week.
At the 11th Storm’s tee shot pitched just off the green, before taking three bounces into the middle of the cup. The masterstroke, which Storm celebrated jubilantly with playing partner and close friend Shane Lowry, earned the Englishman a BMW i8 sports car worth approximately €144,000.
Before then Storm, whose sole European Tour triumph was in 2007 at the Open de France ALSTOM, had made four birdies and two bogeys in his round. He then registered three gains and a one drop, but his par at the last proved particularly valuable when Koepka slipped up.

"It was an incredible feeling. I had a hole in one earlier in the season in Morocco and won a lamp, so I think this prize just about tops that one. To win a car is absolutely magnificent, especially as I had to sell mine because we couldn’t afford to have two cars any more.
"I got a member’s bounce off the bank, but I’ve been here a few times so I’ve probably just about earned it. I saw James Heath do it in Germany earlier in the year, and I was pretty envious when he won the car so it’s nice to get one of my own.
"It was a decent shot, I’m not going to lie and say I was aiming straight for the flag, because it’s a difficult enough green to hit, let alone put it close. But I struck it well and Shane [Lowry] shouted “get in” when the ball was in flight.

"My game has been good for the past few weeks. I’ve been hitting it really well on the range this week, but that doesn’t guarantee that you’re going to take it out onto the course with you. But my iron play today was really, really good – I can’t really remember a single shot which wasn’t on line. I got on a roll with the putter as well, so everything came together nicely.
"There was a fantastic atmosphere out there today and it was a real pleasure to play golf, so it should hopefully be even better tomorrow. It’s a great tournament and it’s always been one of my favourites of the year, so to go out in the last group is going to be very, very exciting."
Overnight leader Richie Ramsay's par 70 for 198 knocked him down to a share of fifth place alongside Jamie Dohaldson.
