PALMER CUP AT PRESTWICK

EUROPE HAMMERING AMERICANS

AT HALFWAY POINT

Europe were well on their way to a big win over the United States at the halfway point of the two-day men’s college student match for the Palmer Cup at Prestwick Golf Club today.

The United States team, packed of top-ranked players from the American college circuit, were whitewashed 4-0 in the four-ball play of the first session.

It didn’t get much better in the afternoon singles, which the Europeans took 6-2.

So, with Friday’s four foursomes and eight singles ties to come, the scoreline reads:

EUROPE 10, UNITED STATES 2
